Tori

Tori is an ecosystem built around the tori™ Board and different toys that interact with various apps (Supreme Builder, Jungle Rescue, Shades of Light, Crystal Chase).

My involvement in the project began during the alpha stage and continued until publication and eventual living ops.

An interesting aspect of this project was to design an innovative gaming experience by combining the physical appearance of a toy and the virtual appearance of a mobile game.

It was very challenging to mantain the focus on the final user (children from 7 to 10 years old) and at the same time mantaining the corresponding level of challenge and fun.

Kids can use their tori™ toys over the tori board to use the physical pieces to mirror moves within the apps.

Shades of light

Role: Game and Level designer

Genre: Puzzle Game

In Shades of Light the player, as a mage’s apprentice, has to manipulate various shapes in front of a spotlight.

These shapes project shadows: by matching the shadow the player must match a specific object silhouette.

The game progression is organized into 3 macro areas (the wings of the castle), each of which consists of 7 levels (i.e. 7 different objects).

In this project I was in charge of both the writing/mantaining of game documentation and the 3D modelling of the levels in Blender.

Another task that I was entrusted with was also the design of the tutorial, which accompanies the player throughout the game and gradually shows the new mechanics.

The toy used in this game is the tori™ Wand, used on the tori™ Board.

Jungle Rescue

Role: Game and Level designer

Genre: Puzzle Action gane

Jungle Rescue is a puzzle and action game in which the player must rescue the Jungle keepers from the clutches of a terrible poacher.

The game consists of 3 main areas, each of which is made of 10 levels.

In each level the player must solve a puzzle, trying to reach the cages with a key.

The tori™ Catapult toy must be moved over the tori™ Board to break, move or activate various structures.

In this project my focus has ben on level design: I have realized 20 levels, trying to mantain a variety of environments as high as possible.

I was also entrusted with the task of designing the game tutorial, a very important element that accompanies the player throughout the story and explains how some mechanics work.

Supreme Builder

Role: Tester

Genre: Sandbox

Supreme Builder is a sandbox game where the player is the creator in a forgotten world where he can express its creativity by building whetever he wants.

Use the tori™ Wand over the tori™ Board to pick up and manipulate various 3D shapes andcreate buildings, monuments, artifacts or other creations.

As a tester, my duties were analyzing the various title's elements icluding gameplay, UI, hardware interaction and online functionalities.

I have worked also on regression testing on new builds, supporting the dev team in understanding and reproducing issues.

Crystal Chase

Role: Tester

Genre: Sandbox

In Crystal Chase the player's objective is to chase and stop gangs of Space Pirates who are pillaging crystals from the city.

Players must use the tori™ Spacecraft over the tori™ Board to prove their dexterity and reflexes by dodging harmful obstacles placed along the course.

The game includes a series of levels divided by areas of the city.

Each area is characterized by a boss that will test the player's skill with a particular attack pattern.

It is also possible to upgrade your spaceship with more and more powerful weapons.

My role in this project was that of the tester, so I was in charge of stress testing the new builds, confronting with the development team and the design team to perfect the game.
